    Ingredients

    • 4 large tomatoes (preferably heirloom; 2 lb total)
    • 3 garlic cloves, cut lengthwise into slivers
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 lb fresh lima or fava beans in pod, shelled, or 10 oz frozen baby lima beans or shelled edamame (soybeans; 2 cups), not thawed
    • 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
    • 1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
    • 6 (6-oz) pieces halibut fillet (1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches thick)
